Two weeks ago, something caught my eye on my Facebook feed; Rachel Cook is running her Best Year Ever Challenge. Of course, in true fashion, I was late to the party- but I did spend that weekend planning my best year. Then, something exciting happened, I started to plan for a career for the first time in three years!

When I became a blogger, I had no business sense or social media training, and blogging was outside my comfort zone. I had to adapt to a huge learning curve…
In my early years of blogging, I stumbled upon the “Fired Up and Focused Challenge” by Rachel Cook. This challenge changed my mindset about life. I started to see my writing as a business, and even my daughter’s medical life as a business. The strategies given around time management and goal setting became tools in my everyday life.
With my daughter’s medical needs, I had to change my yearly goals (from business to mental health). For the last three years, I have been developing my writing, blogging (as a hobby), and trying to keep up some sort of social media presence, however that has not been my main focus. I have been focusing on being a mom and creating a haven for my family.
This year, I have made some career goals and I am excited. Rachel challenged me to find a balance between family life and business. It became clear to me that I didn’t know how to develop my goal of writing a book.
A few days after completing the “Your Best Year Ever Challenge”, I found out that one of my favourite writers, Tricia Goyer, is currently hosting a “Write That Book” challenge. I signed up and after finishing the first assignments, I have come up with a plan to meet my writing goal!
As we approach 2019, I challenge you to Plan for Your Best Year Ever. I am excited to hear about your plan! Please leave a comment!
